Remote Fee + Flat Rate by the Job
Every service includes a remote fee based on your distance from Berea, KY, plus a flat rate for the job itself. Flat rate means we charge based on the estimated time a repair typically takes. If we quote two hours and it takes three, you pay for two. If it takes ninety minutes, you still pay for two.
You Approve Before We Start
We give you the cost upfront. No work begins until you say go. Your quote includes the remote fee, labor, parts, and a small shop materials fee covering consumables like rags, cleaners, and fluids used during the job. No surprise charges at the end.
Parts at a Fair Price
This is where Johnny's stands apart from the big shops. We charge 10% over retail price on parts. Not 100%, not "whatever the market will bear." That 10% covers fuel, warranty, and procurement costs, since we float the cost of your parts until the job's done. No mystery margins, no inflated retail games. In practice: if a part retails for $100 at the counter, we charge $110 — that extra $10 covers the fuel to go get it and the warranty we stand behind when we install it.
Diagnostic Fees Are Honest
Basic diagnostics are a half hour of labor. For complex problems like electrical gremlins, intermittent faults, or multi-system issues, we offer extended diagnostic windows of one to two hours at the same flat rate. If we cannot find the issue on a straightforward problem, you only pay the remote fee. If we agree to an extended diagnostic and still cannot pin down the root cause, you will only be charged for a half hour. We treat you the way we would want to be treated. Lord Jesus commands that we do, and the Judge standeth at the door.
We believe flat rate is the most transparent and fair approach for everyone involved. It represents a fair and transparent approach to what would be possible in a dealership / traditional shop model, without their higher labor rates.

Using his commercial accounts, he can often get parts well below counter price (a $150 water pump might cost you $120 through Johnny). This service is built for the DIY guys looking to save where they can. Johnny grew up without much, and he knows what it's like to need every dollar to count. Parts sourced this way fall outside our warranty. That's exactly how we keep the price down.
